What is a Photoplak?
A Photoplak is your image mounted to 3/8 inch MDF board. The edges are bevelled and finished in your choice of color. It creates a beautiful & unique way to display all of your photos.
What does laminated mean?
Lamination is a process that takes your photo, print, document, image etc. and permanently affixes them to medium density fiberboard MDF then it is covered with a cyrstal clear UV protection coating that is durable and impervious to water, stains, fingerprints etc.
What is the cost of a Photoplak and how do I order my Photoplak?
Prices vary depending on the size of your Photoplak. The price will always be updated on your screen as you make your selections. You will always know the total cost before you make a final commitment to the order. PhotoPlaks Laminating utilizes PayPal which accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.
What items can become be a Photoplak?
All items need to be flat and no thicker than 1/32" thick. Photoplaks can be: Diplomas, Degrees, Certificates, Photos, Digital Photos, Posters, Art Prints, per and magazine Articles & Covers, Water Colors on paper, Sketches, Drawings, Blueprints, Maps & Charts, Report Cards, Kids' Artwork, Postcards, Advertisements, Calendar Pictures, Sign Panels, Price Lists, Marketing Pieces, Menus, Wallpaper & Borders and Gift Wrap.
The easiest way is to go to the Order page. You will be able to select style, size, edge color and all other necessary information with the click of your mouse. Prices will be added as you choose, so you will know exactly what your order total is before you actually place your order. There is no shipping cost with Photoplaks.
How do I send my photo or upload a digital photo?
After you place your order online, you can send us the document or photo, via USPS (Post Office), UPS, Fed Ex or any other carrier of your choice. It is EXTREMELY important that you package your shipment safely to protect your item and not allow it to bend. The item must be secured with a photo mailer, or rolled up in a convenient mailing tube. If you are having a photo laminated and it is in a digital format, you can email this to us. The instructions on how to do this will be given to you during the ordering process. Our web address is also listed on the Contact Us page. We do ask that you send the highest resolution possible since this will give you the best quality print for lamination. Currently, we accept only jpg files.
What's the best way to care for my Photoplak?
Photplaks are easy to care for. Dust, dirt and fingerprints can be removed with a damp cloth, If needed, you can even use a mild soap and water. Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaners since they will scratch or cause damage to your Photoplak.
